There's No Other. 3/5. I am tempted to give it a 4, since I like it marginally more than some of the other 3's here. But not other BB 4's, so 3 it is.

This was also the B side to The Little Girl I Once Knew, which I had in addition to the Party lp, so I remember it for that, too.

No Other. Probably my favourite song on the album and really lends itself to the Party! atmosphere: a little slapdash but enthusiastic and fun. 4/5

"There's No Other (Like My Baby)" is my favorite track on the album, and the only one that will get a 5/5.

I like The Crystals version better with prominent strings, drums, piano, and electric guitar, but this BB version is OK. I don't like Brian's voice so much on this song.

    3/5

Um. No. They are effortlessly much funnier at various parts of this album than they are on this song when they are really trying really really hard to be funny. I'll give it a sooperdooper strong 1/5.

I Get Around/Little Deuce Coupe is one of the weaker tracks on the album. It's been said almost every BB albums has a weak track, and I think this is it. 2/5.

    LDC/IGA - I think it's kind of funny. "even though it's a heap." 3/5

Might have been a better idea to leave this one as a backing track only. Or much better idea: use one of the better outtakes from the sessions.
I do skip this track when playing the album, so no problem giving this a 1/5.

Little Deuce Coupe / I Get Around -- nah. 2/5

Just doesn't cut it. I'll give it a two for exuberance, but it's not funny. I remember reading somewhere that it was one of the first times a huge group was found self-depreciative about two of their biggest recent hits, but, again, nah.

I would like to have whatever Mike Love and the rest smoked/dropped at this party. I don't skip the track as it makes for a weird listen. There are different ways to interpret this track. One can see value in the self mockery, but, really, this is a throwaway when push comes to shove.

    1/5

IGA/LDC - does not warrant repeated listening. 1/5.

Today's song is The Times They Are A-Changing:

    The Times They Are A-Changing -- 4/5

The high score is for Al's voice, which I've always found perfect for the tune. But the song itself, with all the goofing around ("Right!") and the diddling piano always miffed me. He really seems to be trying to give the song the reverent treatment he obviously felt it deserved, to deaf ears.

And may I also say I really like Al's other Dylan cover at the party.

Prefer the Blowin’ outtake. The Party noise is particularly horrible on this one. 2/5

I like "Blowin' In the Wind" a whole lot more than "The Times ..." Agree the party noises ruin what Al was going for. A 3/5 for Al's folk love.

I agree with everything you are saying: good vocal by Al, terrible and distracting chatter at odds with Al's earnest rendering.

But I can only give it a 2/5, as I am indifferent to listening to it, despite Al's yeoman efforts.
