Do you consider Fleetwood Mac to be an English band?

I thought that was "Sun King" which was inspired by "Albatross"?

I struggle to enjoy them after Green and Spencer left :(. And I've tried. I feel like the music lacks the same heart after Green.

That’s correct. I don’t think he ever said anything regarding Fleetwood Mac influencing Yer Blues.

Yer Blues was a pastiche/parody of the English heavy blues bands at the time

As a brit, I’m indifferent, verging on negative about them and I’d have no reservations about letting you Americans lay claim on them If I thought could, BUT
their only consistent members, who give the band their name, and who drive their characteristic sound are English, their most famous songs in the UK-Albatross and Oh Well(1) came out in the Peter Green area, and they’ve nearly always had at least one British songwriter. Even in the fallow years when no one was listening, they had Dave Mason. I’d love to let you have them but face it, they’re limeys.

    (1) Without googling, I seem to remember it was their biggest hit

Oh Well made #2 in the UK as did Man Of The World. Albatross made #1

Only in the sense that couple of the current members are English, then again Wikipedia still describes AC/DC as Australian when many of them were Scottish, and half of U2 from Ireland are also actually English by birth.

:kilroy: Badfinger were half Welsh and half Scouse. I wonder what most people classify them as?

Seems like a remarkable hit rate, considering they weren't really a pop group

Three of their current lineup are English.

"Only in the sense".... Two of them are the name of the band, the only constant members since the beginning. Pretty important. Nobody really cares what's happening currently anyway, even at their peak when they sounded American, most of their hits were written by a third person from England

And if ACDC are Scottish, Cliff Richard is Indian

Suppose with 3 Brits and two Americans one could say they were a British band or a mid Atlantic l suppose.

Christine may have written more hits than either Stevie or Lindsey separately but not collectively. And whether or not their songs were hits shouldn’t determine how they are defined. Many millions of people bought and listened to their albums and she wrote roughly 1/3 of the songs.

They relocated to LA in 1974 and recorded "Heroes Are Hard to Find" in Los Angeles. Welch instigated the move and then quit, leading to Fleetwood's recruitment of Buckingham and Nicks.

Nicks is from Arizona and lived in four different states before landing in California.

But she was in Ca. by the time she was in high school. That is when she met Lindsey.

The Edge was born in England and his parents are Welsh, he just needs some Scottish grandparents for the full set.

I was not alive. I had zero interest in the superduperfamous version which I was familiar with first. I heard the Green stuff later and loved it. So I tried the later stuff again and couldn't get into it. But I did try :p
