Do you regard "Real Love" and "Free as a Bird" as real Beatles songs?

No. They are just Paul, George, Ringo and Jeff Lynn putting backing onto Lennon demos.
The Beatles were the combination and interaction of the 4 Beatles at the same time (even if all 4 are not on a particular track).

Interesting - yes! The Beatles - no!

But what if the White Album was one record?

    I regard
"Free As A Bird" as a Real Beatles song,
    and
"Real Love" as a Free Beatles song.

    Is that clear...?

  7. I consider them more Jeff Lynne songs as if he trapped the Threetles backstage, maybe trying to leave an ELO concert early unnoticed.

Yes, but I also think of them as very different than any the stuff recorded thru 1970 because of the circumstances.

Not really. The only time I think about their existence is when they come up in a thread like this.

I've not been a fan of the idea of the Threetles recording with John's ghost. But I have to say, the first time I heard "Real Love" and heard John and Paul harmonizing again, I started to choke up.

They're an epilogue to The Beatles story.

I can only bring myself to say "sort of." All I know for sure is George does a fantastic job on "Real Love." Especially during the fade.

Someone made a mashup with this and some other Fabs songs, including them singing "Love Love Love" after John sings the line "God bless our love". Saw/heard this on YouTube years ago...

Is 'An American Prayer' by The Doors considered a real Doors record? JM had been pushing up daisys for 7 or so years when the other three recorded their parts to his vocals?

I would say 'maybe'. Basically they were Lennon demos with newly recorded overdubs, but in the end it's all four Fabs combined in one/two songs and it's a beautiful 'farewell' to the whole Beatles story actually.

Yes I do. I value them not only because they sound like Beatles records, but because they are a triumph over the unspeakable, evil act that sought to prevent them from ever happening. The four of them sang and played together again for us one last time. Love triumphed over pure evil.

Yes. The songs have that Beatle magic. The intro (especially the remix) to Real Love is heavenly

No, but it doesn't bother me if some folks regard them as Beatles songs. Technically they are, I suppose.

I do know that I'm very glad that they recorded them.
