I used to feel better when John and George were alive. Because they might make more music. I think fans look to Ringo and Paul more now because there are only 2 left.

I love Ringo in that Tom Petty video. It makes me happy in a comforting sort of way every time I see it.

I find him as comforting as an elderly uncle who constantly says the same few words over and over and sticks his fingers into my face while he's saying those words.

Ringo is Ringo. Listening to Beatle songs (with Ringo drumming) makes me comfortable.
Listening to Ringo's voice, either with the Beatles or solo, makes me Uncomfortable.

  4. John Lennon is my favorite Beatle musically, but if they were all still alive, and I could pick one of them to go have a beer down at the pub, I'd choose Ringo, He always seemed like the most down-to-earth of the group.

I find him comforting when I listen to him sing "Good Night" to me.

Ringo is like a wheel without a cart. I mean, the Beatles were a fine cart with four wheels, but after that you had a three-wheeler then a scooter... So no.

His music since his sobriety, for the most part, is very positive and unfitting, and in that way I find him "comforting." It is great that he is happy and healthy and dealing in "positive vibes." The alternative may have been him dying in the late 1980's if he had continued down the path he was on. The world is a better place with Ringo around, so, yes, that is comforting!

Not surprised that a religion centered around The Beatles might very well have been born in this forum. Let's call them the Holy Quaternity: Paul as God the Songwriter, George as the bearded, quiet Son, Ringo the Comforter and of course John the snarky atheist who ties the room together.

    Oy.

Yes, indeed. Ringo is like everyone's charming old uncle. May he live forever. And if anyone here doesn't have "Postcards from Paradise," it's charming and enjoyable album.

This is now my favorite thread of 2015. I hadn't consciously realized that Ringo is, in fact, comforting.

I do, which I find odd.
The guy just seems so happy go lucky and down to earth. He seems to have never let anything bother him, even his own downfalls in life.
I suppose once you spend part of your childhood in a sanitarium to fight a serious illness nothing else after that seems important enough to get bent out of shape over.

I nominate Ringo for King Of The Universe. He seems to be the only human being calm and in control enough to trust to have his hand on the red button.

I think of Ringo as a big bottle of Snuggles.

I'm kidding. Yes, it is comforting. I'm kinda curious if Ringo changed the heartbeats of people who listened to his drumming at an early age.

Well, technically... it's a Ringo thread lol. I genuinely don't feel the same way about McCartney. Something about a guy who's so much of a down to earth personality... I don't know... I guess I'd say he kind of kept that, uh... band he was in... more real on some level. But I was also thinking of songs like It Don't Come Easy and Photograph, which were pretty likable in their own right.

I miss George and Ringo does too. Always like both of them more than the "egos".
