Yeah, a little melodramatic, but yeah I see what you mean. Love Ringo, always have. Love that he's still doing regular records too: this earns my respect.

Captain Kangaroo used to make me feel that way. Now that he's passed, I suppose Ringo is the best substitute.

Well, I've never seen a picture where Pete didn't look bored and miserable and he wouldn't get the hair cut or go out of his way to fit in with the rest. So, I don't imagine that he was particular fun to be around.

As an aside, their good friend Neil Aspinall fathered a child with Pete's mother Mona, so that could've caused some tensions.

But, Ringo didn't have any reason to feel sorry for Pete. He didn't push him out or anything.

I feel that way about the whole "extended family", to be honest. Ringo, Paul, Eric, Mick, Keith, Pete, Roger...all of them. I can't say i'm a supporter of all their current projects/endeavors but that's neither here nor there. I/we grew up with these guys as an integral part of our daily lives...on the radio, in our cars, television, during school hours, friendly gatherings and MOST importantly, in the solace of our rooms where we'd put on those records and allow them to take us to another place for moments or hours at a time. Losing any one of them (as has been the case, painfully, this year) is like losing an extended family member who you've loved all your life from afar...yea, like a distant uncle or older cousin. Long, healthy lives to all of them.

I hate to be the turd in the punchbowl, but this just made me like him less. I'm sure someone here has a good defense of it....

Saw Ringo last summer. Enjoyable show. Not real interested seeing the band again playing the same tunes.

What a prat of a guy. You don't treat your fans like that. I've never liked him to be honest with you but he seems to be very popular with other musicians.

He looks totally bored an insincere doing that daft peace and love clap trap. He really does need to drop it as it makes him look like a clown.

No. And this video message he sent out in 2008 was very uncomforting. "I'm warning you with peace and love" - oh ok Ringo.

When I finally saw him live a couple of years back with his
All-Starr Band I was surprised by his pleasant demeanor
    and enthusiasm.....so, yeah!

Ringo has been in my life, since 1964, keep everything cool. I don't hate on a Beatle.
I have met him, he was very nice to me, and very nice to my children. They'll never forget it.

I've always loved Ringo for his lack of pretension. What you see is what you get with Ringo.

I always felt that way about Status Quo. All my life trends had come and gone, many bands and artists disappearing after sometimes huge success, but there was always the Quo, just being the Quo. There was something reassuring about that. Rick Parfitt's death late last year saddened me immensely. It felt like Status Quo would be around forever until recently.
