Does anyone know the reason for Japan still refusing to allow airmail shipping to the US?

I did a search online and all of the articles I could find were from April and said it was due to lack of flights to carry mail. But having looked at a chart on CD Japan that shows what countries allow various types of delivery to different countries [COVID-19 Shipping Restriction Summary ] it shows them now shipping by air to Germany, the UK, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands etc. etc. etc.. Obviously, they are all going by air. The US is one of only ten countries they aren't allowing airmail to be sent to. Just genuinely curious if anyone has an updated reason why this is still in effect and when it might be lifted. Given the US's track record in dealing with the virus, I could understand on some level not wanting mail FROM us, but why not TO us? Thanks!

Maybe the restriction is on the US side. Possibly a leftover from the days when Japan was being hit hard by COVID-19.
