Wish she'd get someone life Jack White to produce it. When she produces herself or uses the same old team (prob due to loyalty), things can get a little cheesy.

 

I really thought this had "single" power. Shame it didn't and I noticed it's not on her deluxe Holly Dolly Christmas album.

Steve Albini has offered to produce, but I figure if it happens White will probably get the job.

 

She always gets to me when she gets emotional. Like she says "There's brain under this wig, and a big heart under these boobs". Gotta love her!

This is pretty embarrassing. I mean, we all know that most of these pop singers are lip syncing. But Dolly forgets an entire line in the first ten seconds while her vocal continues undeterred. Oof.

 

I love Dolly, and I think she's earned the right to do whatever she wants to at this point. Worst case scenario: It flops, and we all forget about it within a few years. Best case scenario: It's a fun album that fans can enjoy.

I think the Stones would make a fantastic backing band for Dolly. But I really doubt that will happen for an entire album. Makes much more sense commercially for her to draft an all-star lineup for the album, a la Santana.

Of course, in a perfect world, I'm imagining Jack White backing and producing, a la Van Lear Rose.

 

Pffft ...

She's 76 and Awesome. Haters gonna hate.

 

They could come full circle and do a rocking duet of Joelene.

I wanna hear "Magic Man", "Purple Rain", and "Heart of Glass"... and there are just as many covers on this I do not want to hear.

 

Gee, I hope the promo photos aren't the real ones. They look like garbage. A 7th grader could have made those.

Dolly is one of my heroes but that cover is a zero.

Looks like the same art team who did Pat Boone's metal album.

 

I was just going to say she should do Honky Tonk Women with the Stones. That could be amazing.
