I don't have the box set but have several individual releases that are HDCDs. Out of curiosity, are these the same masters?

Just got this set in the mail today. Perfect condition (no cuts, etc), though as someone said earlier the book is a tight fit in the box. Really cool LP-style packaging of the album CDs.

The sound is terrific! Now I haven't heard the DCCs so i can't compare, but I can't imagine that they can be much better. The first Doors album is most impressive to me. I can't ever remember hearing such bass on Light My Fire.

Why can't all remasters sound this good? I mean, really, is this a fairly flat transfer or did they do some EQ'ing? Or were The Doors simply recorded exceptionally well in the first place?

Yes... the Grundman mastering is very good! One of the best remasters out there.
