The single "Road House Blues"/"You Make Me Real" was in mono, and the single "Who Do You Love"/"Universal Mind" was given a catalog number but not released, although there may have been a promo.

You Make Me Real also has Jim saying "c'mon" in the beginning, which isn't on the album. It can be heard (along with some whistling) on the Perception remix

I'm only expecting a "hits" sampler of their other video releases with nothing new.

Maybe it will be the recalled DVD Ray-Rob doing LAW Woman getting reissue. Then they can upload a clip of John Densmore doing "unboxing" video like the Fog box. I would pay big money for that.

Break on Through/End of the Night(rare mono cd versions outside boxset)
Light My Fire/Crystal Ship(rare mono cd version outside boxset, no wide US release of stereo LMF edit?)
People Are Strange/Unhappy Girl(mono debut on CD)
Love Me Two Times/Moonlight Drive(mono debut on CD)
Universal Soldier/We Could Be so Good Together(rare mono on on 60's promo?!?!)
    Hello I Love You/Love Street(stereo only?)
    Touch Me/Wild Child
Wishful Sinful/Who Scared You(Mono WS, only CD copy of unedited WSC outside Weird Scene Goldmine reissue?)
    Tell All The People/Easy Ride
    Runnin' Blue/Do It
You Make Me Real/Roadhouse Blues(mono debut on CD?)
Love Her Madly/You Need Meat(was YNM on perception a remix? Only other CD release on Weirdscenes?)
Riders on the Storm/Changeling(Mono Riders only released on RSD single?)
Get Up & Dance/Tree Trunk(2 hard to find tracks on CD)

There's upwards of 19-20 tracks many big Doors fans don't have on CD.

30 tracks here, so dump the non-Jim stuff and stereo tracks the same as the album to get down to 20. I'm on the fence about the 2-3 tracks with unique single mixes not on the stereo albums.

The irony of doing a singles release is that it is what all the 'best of' and 'greatest hit' compilations should have been - the versions of the songs that were the hits. If this is done properly, with every correct single track, including mono and stereo variations, fold-downs that were released and the Other Voices and Full Circle singles, then it will be terrific.

If it's half-baked, doesn't have use the correct mixes and edits, has modern-day attempts at those edits (like on some Bowie compilations), doesn't cover the post-Jim territory, then it will just be a glorified best of and not worth getting.

Come on guys - do it right. Please.

I fully expect this will be the modern mixes of all the songs which were released as singles compiled on this release.

I simply cannot believe this will include mono variations, fold-downs, single edits or any other variation that would make this (almost) worth buying.

Hopefully I'm way off the mark, but .....

This collection spotlights every single, and B-side, the band released, all gathered together for the first time. This 2CD/1Blu-ray release also includes four “Mono Radio Versions” of some of the band’s biggest hits, such as “Hello, I Love You” and “Touch Me,” which have never been made available anywhere after being sent to radio around their original release. It also includes high-resolution quadrophonic mixes of the 1973 compilation The Best Of The Doors on Blu-ray for the first time.

Thanks. There have been a number of complaints here of the new Singles set being a repeat of what has already been released, but that obviously is not the case. The CDs aside, we are also treated to these singles in hi-rez on the Blu-Ray disc. Hopefully the Blu-Ray disc will have the CD tracks in hi-rez stereo/mono.

If the only thing on the blu-ray is the Best of The Doors quad mix, then I'll stick with just the 2-CD set. Audio Fidelity already hooked me up with the Best of The Doors.

I don't know. They point out the 4 "Mono Radio Versions" (are any of these dedicated mixes?) but no mention of the proper unique single mixes being used for other tracks. They simply say "remastered". Hopefully they didn't just use the album versions. If they did use the proper "Touch Me" stereo single mix on the CD, it's still missing from the vinyl set.

I have not followed this thread continuously, so this is probably old news. Here it goes.

Amazon.com is taking pre-orders on a reissue of the Japanese 45 single of "Light My Fire" (with "The Crystal Ship" as the B-side). It is just $7.98 with a release date of July 28th.

I love vague marketing copy from The Doors. So is every single track the authentic original single mix on this set? Or are only the 4 mono radio versions the only authentic single mixes here -- with the rest being stereo masters from the LPs (with the exception of the Light My Fire single edit)?

This is going to be a major dud if they didn't use all the unique single mixes.

It is clearly apparent that The Doors do not have a curator nor want to pay one that can adequately pull this together. They want quick $$$$$

maybe our loyalist can come in here and defend this release too . . .

They already skimped on the cover art .. it looks like someone's totally hip niece taking an art course with Photoshop whipped it up in under an hour.

They already did the 14 cd set of the 14 singles released in Japan that specifically has some single/mono versions.
