Buy.com has the 1966 Complete Motown Singles collection for $9.99. I don't like the idea of lossy music... but 126 tracks for $10? The iTunes price is $60. They offer both 128 and 256kbps bitrates. Format is Windows Media. It doesn't look like they offer artwork or anything.

Sounds interesting, especially at that price. Great for the road.

There is no point for me to download the whole thing if some of the tracks are in stereo.

All the tracks on disc 4 that are labeled as stereo are actually mono. I've listened on headphones. Wasn't there a similar mix up with the 1965 collection on iTunes?

If there was a mix-up, it was duplicated on buy.com too.

I'm sorry, did I get this right - less than 8 cents a track?

Just exactly what is the downside here?!?

They don't like the fact that they are compressed files.

When you burn the music to CD-R, you effectively strip the DRM. besides, the record companies are pulling away from DRM because of many reasons, most of all, because they hate being captive to Apple's near-monopoly.

    Is this price an error?!

With a savings like that, you could afford some clean 45's of the specific ones you want on top of that!

You're right, there's no great booklet. On the upside, it's $10.

It's the cover of Aphex Twin's Windowlicker. Just a little something for the breast men. ;)

It is pretty big. It took about 2 hours to download at work. We have a slower DSL connection, and my boss eats up bandwidth with a certain (insert against forum rules political talk show host here )talk show all day. Figure about 5 megs per song, and 126 songs.

Not all mono, but it sounds pretty good. The mono songs sound better.

I'll pass-again. Perhaps volume seven will have enough of what I want to get the actual CDs. :)

Couldn't help but look over a the current price for the 1965 set - $92.49. I couldn't help myself. $9.99 was just too great a deal to let go by. Even at 256k though, the sound suffers.

Super deal - must be in error. Anyway, bought and downloaded this last night. Sounds good at 256K, and you can't beat the deal. I'm not fond of .wma files with DRM, but i'll manage.

I can't believe people are complaining or passing this by at this price...
