sheryl crow - artist choice - it has 4 crow songs not to be found anywhere elae

i got rid of all the others i had (springsteen - devils and dust - found a promo that was a regular CD and carly simon - moonlight serenade - also found a promo)

bad bad format, many of them got stuck in car players because of their thickness.

    Dire Straits: Brothers in Arms
Five for Fighting: The Battle for Everything
    Foo Fighters: In Your Honor

    Los Lonely Boys: Sacred
Sheryl Crow: Music That Matters to Her
    Snow Patrol: Final Straw
    Talking Heads: Little Creatures
    Talking Heads: Remain in Light
    Talking Heads: Speaking in Tongues

I popped my Burt Bacharach dual disk on awhile ago. Sounds fine but problems halfway through the DVD which I remember was something that annoyed me years ago. Sometimes the Dvd would play fine other times would just stay put.

Not a good idea. The CD side didn't meet "Red Book" standards, the discs were too thick for many car players, and scratched too easily. And the DVD Side wasn't always HiRes. CD+DVD a better format.

I only have one. Ben Folds "Songs for Silverman".
I only bought it because it was in front of me, not because of the dual disc/surround.

I've only listened to the 5.1 mix a couple of times. Cool, but not necessary for me.

Yes, I have a number of them.

    Best regards

  8. I got the Björk and Talking Heads sets when they came out. Then a few years ago, I collected them whenever I found them cheap in go.Hastings used CD selections. Hastings even had "Dualdisc" as one of their selection criteria. I still have some prerecorded Minidiscs, to keep them company.

Dual Disks are thicker than standard disks, so I never dared to play them in the slot-in car stereo...
Actually, it's two disks glued together.
So, I wonder, what will happen to that glue during the years. I am arfraid they are more fragile than standard disks.

The best for me, seems to be a double pack or combo of CD and DVD in a double disk jewel case or double disk digipac. It's more compatible and does not take more space than a dual disk in a jewel case.

I have only a few dual disks, Pet sounds, Talking heads, Brothers in arms.
The format died, an prices for used rised.

    Best regards

Had several more in the past but this is what is left.

AC/DC - Back In Black ; pure horses**t sound on both sides of the disc is the nicest thing I can say about what I felt to be Dynamically crippled audio quality. However for me the "making of " video made this a keeper.

Dave Brubeck - Time Out ; Nice sound, but the Sony SACD is even nicer, so too now is the AP SACD. It's perhaps plausible on some systems this could be as nice or nicer than the Sony SACD?? But not on any of mine. Once again the "making of " video makes this disc a keeper.

I have no idea how many I have but I pick them up when I find them used. I do know that I have the Andrew WK, Aerosmith, Barbara Streisand/Barry Gibb, Foo Fighters, Grateful Dead, Ian Gillan, Joe Perry, Miles Davis, Townshend, and Springsteen titles.

I remember the display at Tower in 2004 and at the time I was heavily into SACD and DVD-A, so I didn't see the need to pick up another format. The only one I sought out new was the Talking Heads brick. I passed on the rare Brubeck Time Out, which is my biggest regret. At the time the big problem was new releases that were exclusive to DD, which made them unplayable in many CD players. I sought out the import Springsteen on CD for that reason.

Never understood why not just put the CD content on one disc and the DVD content on another. Even at the time, it wasn't very expensive to do it that way, and it would have avoided the compatibility issues.

I hope this isn't thread-crapping. If so, I will bow out.
