Ridley Scott’s New Movie Could Be His Best Film Since Gladiator A monumental reckoning: how Abel Gance’s Napoleon was restored to full glory | Sight & Sound
Hmm...the trailer doesn't excite me as much as the Part 1 trailer did. We'll see! The shots looked worse? Lower quality film maybe? I wonder if Covid impacted the shooting of Part 2?
‘Dune: Part Two’ Adds Tim Blake Nelson – Deadline Dunno if this has already been posted but who can't see Count Fenring in Nelson?! Who else could he be? Esmar Tuek?! Gotta be Fenring!
I’ve read this book more times than most, and this clip with the thumping and the thrumming, the liquefaction as the worm comes right up to Paul and he disappears for a moment in a sea of tossed roiling sand…good gods, it made me shudder.
Perhaps, but there is a lot to be said about being that far away from SLC and Denver. Besides, the beautiful fruit grown on the west slope more than makes up for the lack of an IMAX theater.
Perth doesn't have an IMAX anymore so it's looking like a flight to Melbourne, methinks as it's currently unknown when the new Sydney IMAX will be completed.
I usually get to Las Vegas once every couple of months.. I'm going to try to schedule a trip around that time.
The characterization of most of the villains (including the Baron) has been changed from the book... But I don't really have a problem with it. I'm just glad they've made Paul more than a 2 dimensional white knight who's trying to save the universe by defeating the evil empire.
Isn’t Paul already having visions of the jihad in the first book? And scared to death of it? Thought he had the vision of the shrine of the skull in the first book but it’s been awhile since I read the books at the beginning of the series
Yes Paul is having visions of the jihad in the first book. What I was saying is that I'm glad they aren't leaving that out in this adaptation. At least they haven't so far.
So looking forward to this... This latest trailer, while perhaps falling to the usual tropes of "showing too much" does delight. For me I see no indication of lesser production values (as stated in this thread). Quite the opposite actually. I've been employed as a creative director at a film/animation studio for 18 years and all I can say is I see the money in these shots. But, and apologies as I think I've said it earlier, the only thing that gives me pause is the casting of Zendya. I found her distracting? But let's see how it plays out...
