I have a Go Video DVD recorder (model 3740). I've been using Memorex DVD+RW's to record on with no problem up until last night I repeatedly got "Write Fail" and the recording stopped. Anyone know what causes this to occur? The discs were a new 5-pk and the previous pack I had no problems with. Software mfg. glitch from a different batch of discs maybe?

Either that, or the recorder itself failing. If you can successfully re-record the RWs that burned OK before, then it is probably a defective batch of blanks.

Dunno about DVD-/+RW media, but CD-/+RW sectors can only be rewritten 999 (theoretical) times each.

When RW discs can't be erased (for one reason or another) then they're useless.

Try a DVDR disc just for a test to make sure the drive isn't failing out.

I've had some +RW discs go flaky on me - I wrote to them but afterward they were not readable. Little bubble looking things when you look at the disc sideways. Strange! I love the +RW method of multiple recording, though...fantastic idea.
