DVD/VCR Combo Player Suggestions?

I'm looking for a decent DVD/VCR Combo Player...Anyone have any suggestions?

 

I know that Samsung and LG makes the Combo player. They should be good.

 

I have a Sony, and it's good, but there are remote problems when using universal remotes. The new Sony TV I just bought has a remote that won't work with it.

My parents have a Panasonic, and I think that's a good one as well. Don't know about any possible remote problems with that one, though.

 

I have a Samsung, and it works fine. Occassionally there's a logic problem that requires I unplug the unit and plug it back in.

Two things to note: While a combo player reduces cable clutter, it's invariably more expensive than buying a seperate DVD player and VCR. Also, you cannot dub a commercial DVD directly to a tape in the VCR.

 

Just got a Toshiba V392. Less than $140. Have only had it a couple of weeks, but works great. Chose that brand because I've had good luck with a dedicated DVD player I bought (and still have) several years ago.

 

Thanks All! Name brand it'll be I have a Toshiba SD 3109 DVD player...been happy with it...Although, Panasonic VCR's are workhorses!

 

My cousin has the Toshiba & hasn't had any complaints. My aunt has one from Hitachi & it's been great for her.

 

I have a Toshiba VCR since...1985!! and still works great.

 

Our local Sony outlet had VHS/DVD players a week before Xmas at $99.99. They also had DVD-only players for $39. (Our joke when we saw those: pay $10 more than Wal*Mart, and avoid the stampede. ) I almost wish I'd bought one (or two) back then, but I'm sure they'll have more deals next time I go up there. That combo player is the same one Target sells for more than $150 (I think I saw it there for $179...?).

 

I picked up an "out-of-the-box" Sansui DVD/VCR combo player at Sears last year for $69 bucks.

Great for the bedroom system.

 

I buy Panasonic whenever given the option. Next pick is Toshiba.
