Madeleine L'Engle: The Wrinkle in Time Quartet

$2.99 for four of the Wrinkle in Time books (May 14, 2022).

This is The Library of America edition and seems almost blasphemous to get in on Kindle. I love their books (onion skin paper and all), but this is a great price for these titles.

$2.99 here too! I also like reading from e-books because I connect my laptop to the big screen.. And, it doesn't hurt my neck like real books, do.

I just finished Danny Seraphine's (Chicago) book.. I liked it. "Street Player"
I'm almost done with "GIMME A SHOW! 50 YEARS ON THE ROCK & ROLLERCOASTER: AN UNAUTHORIZED BIOGRAPHY OF JAMES PANKOW, TROMBONIST FOR CHICAGO" -- also good... There's a lot of talk of the other members in the band. The author did a GREAT job hunting down interviews.

I highly, highly recommend those books. You don't even need to like the band, but the people in Chicago (or were) are very interesting.

Does he talk about the band only, or does he mention the contemporary scenes, stories witnessed of those outside of the group, but inside the music industry?

  13. moomoomoomoo

    moomoomoomoo WhoNeedsRealityWhenThere'sMoreSleepToLookForwardTo

Yes regarding the "scene", though so far the band is still on Zappa's label; so music biz is somewhat minimized. Lots of stuff about hanging out with The Doors, Zappa, Hendrix, etc.
