How easy is it to upgrade a 5th gen Ipod Classic? I got my hands on an old 30 gb and want to upgrade to a 1 tb or 2 tb. Is there a site that will do the upgrade? Thanks

It's do-able but definitely not easy! Depends on your manual dexterity and how handy you are mechanically. Many years ago, I attempted to work on an ipod. I wound up throwing it away! I imagine you'll find videos on YT.

I've done a few now and it gets easier each time, but as @Chazro noted, it ain't for everybody. If you aren't the DIY type, and aren't willing to possibly waste your ipod, don't attempt it.

Here's a good site for info, and to order needed parts for the upgrade: iFlash.xyz – Welcome to the home of the iFlash Adapter

This one has a 512gb sdxc card and a 256 sdxc card installed.

edit: Noticed you're in the midwest. If you're nearby, I'd happily do it for you.

You can also load Rockbox on it which supports additional codecs and features.

Probably best to watch some youtube tutorials and see if you feel comfortable doing it. If so, you can get kits from places like iFixit.

If not, there are sites like RapidRepair that will do it for you.

Twodawgzz But why do you ask such questions...

Only the guy in Fantastic Voyage should attempt this.
