A friend of mine died of esophageal cancer, it was fast. He had quit smoking in 1981 so that wasn't
an immediate consideration. He had an aneurysm in his esophagus, he told my wife he spit up
a little blood. She has been a nurse for 43 years, she told me that his drinking might be causing
the aneurysm. My wife suggested he go to ER or somewhere where they can help you... he didn't
listen. He died 3 weeks later.

The guy would wait until 5pm everyday, then hit the bottle. He said only alcoholics drink before 5pm..

    That cancer moves fast.

I'm not trying to hijack your thread, I was just putting some insight into that cancer.

It's also a somewhat rare cancer (fortunately) so most won't suspect that they have it, nor is it the first thing that doctors will look for.

TMZ is now reporting that he died of complications from a heart valve replacement in June.

Soundscan was not kind to Eddie. "Right Here" failed to chart upon its fall 1991 release, it was only after "I'll Get By" was released and began moving up the charts that the album appeared on the Billboard 200.

I just heard about Eddy's passing, and it was the first I heard about the cancer. Sad news. My thoughts are with his loved ones.

    RIP, Eddy.

If I had a listening room with pictures of musicians on the wall, this picture would be up there.

Everything that has it listed anywhere just says "2020".....maybe around the one year anniversary of his passing?

According to a recent post from his wife, he died of cardiac arrest.
In the same thread on his Facebook page, they announced that "Brand New Day" was finally being released to all digital platforms this past Friday, April 17. No plans for a physical release at this time.

  19. Nice to hear that Eddie’s final album will be released. Always liked Eddie. He was a nice guy when my brother’s band opened for him just after his first album was released. Don’t know if that was always the case but either way, it’s sad when someone talented is taken whether it be early or late. I was sad when I heard about his death last year although I will admit I had not listened to him in a while.

Same here.....and I have the entire rest of his catalog!
His wife said CDs aren't being manufactured right now because of the virus, but acts on major labels like Sony (Dixie Chicks) and indie ones like Blue Elan and New West (Mustangs of the West, Steve Earle), as well as independent artists (Louise Goffin) are all currently releasing on CD.
And there were actual CDs up for pre-order last year, when it was originally scheduled for July.
I don't get it.....maybe later in the year??

depends on the label i guess? weird you would think some were pressed last year. they should add "one more soldier" to it

Considering Target was one of the stores advertising it, there was no way they were going to be manufactured at the last minute!
I would have thought there would have been an initial pressing at least!
