If you were near Cleveland in 1978 and listening to Kid Leo on WMMS for more than fifteen minutes, you heard Eddie Money.
I really thought he'd be a big star after the first two hit songs. A great white R&B singer, but he never got huge. But he made a good living. I guess he wasn't an MTV ready boy toy. RIP, Eddie.
I'm not sure what you consider to be a big star......he was all over the radio and MTV from 1977-1987. He also sold out some fairly large venues during his heyday. I was at one of those sold out concerts, and the Money Man delivered.
I love his song Trinidad; terrific production and performance. His appearance on The King of Queens made me roar when I first saw it. I think he had a good sense of humour about himself. He'll be missed.
I have some live Eddie Money on King Biscuit vinyl from the early 80's. I need to get that out to listen to this weekend.
A surprising cover by the Moneyman, from the Yoko tribute album Every Man Has A Woman. RIP, Mr. Mahoney.
What a great cover! Haven't thought about this album in years. I think Money's is the definitive version.
RiP Eddie. I love the song Two Tickets Two Paradise so much. Just reminds me of vacation as a kid driving to Yosemite and AM radio. Love that song. Great bands and songs he had. Great singer. Love Eddie. And he loved my fave Ronnie Spector. The stuff they did was fun. Great Rocker he was. Rock on Eddie!
Sad news. His music was catchy and fun. He made a lot of people happy with his gift. Rest In Peace, Eddie.
Eddie's secret weapon... the amazing Jimmy Lyon on guitar. Cool to see him jamming with Neal here. And the great Chuck Ruff on drums...
I real journeyman rocker. He had a nice long career and that’s a hard think to accomplish in the music business. He just played a free show at a public park in my neighborhood about a year ago. He put on a good show and was very personable to the crowd. My condolences to his loved ones.
very sad. he seemed to invent a sound but more importantly a style that a lot of rockers started to do in the 80's. after him it seemed everyone was wearing a suit on album covers that had flashy colors
Me and the wife saw him at the Colorado State Fairgrounds in the very early 80s.RIP Eddie Money .My wife is gone also.RIP Chick.
