Stayed up this morning and watched the whole thing. El Camino is a terrific coda to Breaking Bad.

yes it was! almost perfect. such an outstanding culmination of the BB universe. Aaron Paul was excellent and the story well crafted. kudos to Vince Gilligan. any BB fan should see it and will-i think-love it.

I thought it was shot, acted and written beautifully. Aaron Paul was outstanding. Some more random thoughts:

The scene with Walt and Jesse was great, with a very wistful, pre-Heisenberg Walt. I literally cheered when they were walking down the motel hallway together. Where would that scene have branched with the show? Would have been very early on like maybe the 1st season I'm guessing. Very Tarantino-esque.

Jesse Plemons (Todd) has clearly put on some weight. His scenes were extra-creepy, adding more background to the stone cold killer that he was. So the tarantula in his room is the one the kid was playing with that he shot in the episode "Dead Freight", isn't it? Also thought it was hilarious that Todd had the glitter globe the guy held up with replicas of himself and Lydia inside it.

Didn't know Robert Forrester was coming back as the vacuum salesman, and he was GREAT as always.

Badger and Skinny Pete were hilarious, especially when they were ripping on each other early in their scene ("You couldn't drive Miss Daisy" "Apex, b!tch!!").

The standoff scene with Kandy the welder and Jesse--damn was that fantastic.

So much tension and so perfectly made--everything I was expecting and so damn good. This stands with the best of the show I'd say.

Agreed, nice observations and some of those I missed.
Another thing I noticed was the scene with Skinny Pete in the trailer isn't in the movie! Perhaps they are preparing for another movie?? Also, I do not remember the Kandy guy if he was previously in the series, I had no idea who he was

I kept waiting for the Skinny Pete being interrogated scene from the teaser, but cannily, they kept the focus on Aaron Paul's Jesse throughout the film and I believe Jesse appears in nearly every scene. That was a good choice. I kind of doubt we're getting another movie or even an expanded one of El Camino, though--they'll probably want to keep this one tight at two hours.

I too was like "are we supposed to know this welder guy?" when he said to Jesse "I was wondering when you'd remember me". Can't remember if Kandy ever appeared in the final season of BB or not or was a periphery character.

I'm glad Jesse got a happy ending of sorts after all he went through. Also, this movie was expertly shot and would have been amazing to see on the big screen (but I couldn't risk some a-holes talking through it in the theater and ruining it).

I could also see some being disappointed with limited interaction of Walt & Jesse here, but I thought how they did it was great.

    God, that scene where

Jesse is helping Todd dispose of the cleaning lady's corpse in Todd's apartment, and Todd makes them unroll the carpet they have her wrapped in, to retrieve the belt he used to strangle her ("Might need this"), which he then puts on. Lmao!!

Badger and Skinny Pete had to have evolved from Cory and Trevor from Trailor Park Boys.
