Elton John. Best 70s/80s albums. Poll.

I'm putting my money on either 'Victim Of Love' or 'Leather Jackets' as the eventual winner!

I'm more into the 70s Elton. My money would go on Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. He sure did great music !

I'm expecting GYBR to win easily. I think the 70s half will certainly do better.

Voted for Madman, Don't Shoot Me, GYBR, Captain and Westies, but probably spent more time with 11/17/70 than any of those.

 

Tumbleweed, Honky, Don't Shoot, Captain F, and 21 At 33 for me. They have the best songwriting and Elton's singing on all of them is stellar.

I know, what was I thinking. But I think Captain Fantastic really is one of his best.

 

Side One of Captain Fantastic is a personal favorite but Goodbye Yellow Brick Road still amazes me. So much great music on one album.

A great although enforced work ethic producing a magnificent run of albums up to the vast majority of Blue Moves.

My very favorite of these are Tumbleweed and Brown Dirt Cowboy. I haven't heard many of the '80s albums.

 

They're better than their showing in the poll suggests.
