I agree with NJE here, to my ears everything about the remake is inferior. The charities made a lot of money, which is great, but as an EJ song it's the last one I'd ever want to hear again.

Thanks for everyone's response to this thread.
I've enjoyed seeing everyone's picks, and made a playlist of all the ones I'm not familiar with.

    "Skyline Pigeon" (album version)
    "Your Song"
    "Rocket Man"
    "Honky Cat"
    "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road"
    "Someone Saved My Life Tonight"
"Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word"
    "Empty Garden (Hey Hey Johnny)"
    "I'm Still Standing"
"I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues"
"Can You Feel the Love Tonight"

Your Song - 51 years on and it is still beautiful and classic.

Tiny Dancer - Musically and lyrically, this may be Elton and Bernie's best creation.

Border Song - That it can be covered by Aretha Franklin and work as a gospel-like song is a tribute to Elton and Bernie's skill and chemistry.

Yeah, pretty much impossible to pick just three... but those are some of are my perennial favourites that don’t ever change.

Have to say, though... I think of myself as a very long-time fan but there are some of the overplayed hits I can’t listen to anymore.

I found the hysteria around her death distasteful, the lyrics to be somewhat cheesy and didn’t particularly appreciate a beautiful song being repurposed. He could have written a completely new song.

Just my personal opinion, though, I appreciate that there are others who feel differently.

So very close to my top 3, but I'd replace "Sun" with "I've Seen That Movie Too" or "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road"

Since most of you are focusing on his artistic/commercial peak in the 70's, I will name my 3 favorites from this millennium, all 10/10 in my book.
