I guess you've all seen this at ebay, but would you risk bidding big bucks on a seller with an ebay history of 1 transaction?

I've been bidding on ebay for about a month. I've made about 15 purchases. My observation is that most people on there conduct business in a professional manner. However I have been burned once already(inaccurate description). Sometimes It doesn't how many positives a seller has, they can still screw you . hey what's one unhappy customer when they have 2000 tranactions. but I don't think I'd go for a one time seller, I would look at a first time buyer a little differently. A first time seller may not rate the condition of the product accurately. Howevwe, on this one it all depends on where the price ends up. If its still real low for ELVIS 24K hits, then maybe go for it. But again, if its too good to true, then maybe it is!!!

Scuse' me Ron, while the old ebay pro steps up to the plate;)

Peter, try having some email conversation with good questions for the seller. See how quick and what he/she has to say and kind of let that be your ruler of measurement.

Is he/she helpfull, courteous, a little bit eager to help you or is he/she short with you, non-responsive, and down right rude?

Ask questions my friend and let those gut instincts be your guide. I've done more than a dozen transactions with first time sellers and have never been burned, except by shipping charges, before. ;)

    You are correct Dave.

I purchased the Beatles Complete for $400.00 from a guy with a zero rating. He said he only played a couple of the lps once and the others never. He lived about 3hrs. from my house I told him I would drive down and pick up the set. It turns out that this guy bought the set new when he had his own store back in the 80's and now owns a stereo distribution company. He said I could use my credit card through his company for the purchase. He sent the set UPS with no charge. The lps arrived in MINT shape in less than a week!!

I was also screwed out of $60.00 by some creep in Taiwan who had no negative ratings.
