This hasn't much to do with Elvis' movies other than songs taken from the This Is Elvis soundtrack. As you can see, I pulled heavily from the This Is Elvis soundtrack album. I had other Elvis mixtapes but this was the one that I seemed to use most on the road. Good music for driving. I later made a playlist of this for the digital age. I rarely play an all Elvis playlist anymore but I pull this up sometimes for a nostalgic road trip.

Looks like we cover a lot of the same ground @PepiJean . Great other stuff there too!

I forgot to post the previously unreleased version of "Always On My Mind" that is superior to the released master IMO. It's been my go-to version of that song since I got the soundtrack album.

I apologize for hijacking the thread @Bink . I figure that I might as well post the trailer to This Is Elvis for anyone that hasn't seen it before.

I agree: the "EOT" version of ALWAYS ON MY MIND is the definitivew for me too.
I remember hearing it for the first time in "The Great Performances" LP (1990 probably) and thinking: "That's the one!"

Well, as promised, my Elvis fan friend got me a bunch of Elvis movie DVDs for Christmas. This is what he gave me:

    Tickle Me
    Stay Away Joe
    Girl Happy
    Kissin' Cousins
Live a Little, Love a Little
  8. Nice! Some entertaining viewing right there.

Thank you Jayson. It has been great for me too. I had only seen a handful of these movies so it has been fantastic to share the experience of watching them all with you all.

I just want to say that I went to one of my local Dollar Tree stores today & picked up a DVD copy of Kid Galahad for $1.00. There were a few copies there.

Oh, by the way Bink, do you know that there is an Ipswich, here in Massachusetts? It's a coastal town not too far away from me in the North Shore area. Is your Ipswich a coastal town also?

There is also an Ipswich in Australia - it is a city a bit inland from Brisbane, the capital of the state of Queensland. 'Wich/wic' was used by the Anglo-Saxons for trading settlements, so wics are often found on the coast in England.

Yes, I was aware there is an Ipswich in the US but I wasn't sure where specifically. My Ipswich isn't exactly a coastal town but we are just a few miles from the East coast of England.

The Aloha From Hawaii concert didn't really fit the remit of this thread but as today is the 49th anniversary of this concert, here's a clip:

Maybe there will be a 50th anniversary thread next year!

I really wish Loving You,Blue Hawaii and original cut of Thats The Way It Is was released on bluray but it seems very unlikely,at least for two of them.
Most dvd editions of these 3 titles is really poor and what bothers me the most is that all versions of TTWII mentioned above is in mono only.
