I had one experience along those lines but not with the gold discs. The Elvis Presley 50's box I bought had one of the picture discs with a clear spot where I could see right through it. Interesting how it did not affect play.

It just bothered me enough that I returned for a replacement of that one disc.

Here's a question...how does the MoFi sound compared to the old Polygram version?

John Buchanan I'm just a headphone kind of fellow. Stax Sigma

I haven't heard an old Polygram "461" CD, but the MoFi sounds very good. I thought it sounded much like my memory of the first issue RSO US release. "Just One Night" sounded awful on the first Polygram CD and excellent on MoFi. The MoFi sounded way closer to the Nautilus and Polydor UK vinyl. Note the recording engineer :p
Off the topic a little, Ozzy Osbourne now walks with a shuffling gait, staring disposition and has very shaky hands. Either he is on major tranquilisers or has Parkinson's disease. Anyone know?

Much better, the old one was on the harsh side.

I like it a lot. Don't remember off-hand whether it is GAIN or pre-GAIN, but it sounds good to me. I'm much more of a fan of 461 though, so I'm more familiar with the sound. Blind Faith and Layla are also great sounding.

I agree. Eric Clapton (s/t with Delaney & Bonnie) sounds wonderful on vinyl and CD.

Great! Only problem is that it has the SHORT version of After Midnight (he never gets to say "Whoo....after midnight).

The MFSL version of Derek & the Dominoes In Concert doesn't sound too bad either.
