Lets hope those rehearsals are included on this release. I have watched them on YT and totally deserve their place here!
One of the highlights of my life is being 2nd row center for that tour stop in Atlanta. Here's wishing for an excellent CD remaster of the album.
@Steve Hoffman - Hi Steve, was this title considered for remastering by AF when the Clapton “Warner” albums were done? I vaguely remember that there was some chance of it but then it didn’t happen.
My deluxe set idea would be as follows (3CD + Blu-ray): CD1 - Remastered Album + 4 unreleased tracks CD2 & CD3 - Live “Nothing But The Blues” tour album Blu-ray - Nothing But The Blues documentary or the Fillmore West concert film (plus the tour rehearsals footage if WB has the rights to it)
I have never really given Pilgrim a chance or a proper listen. Somehow the few tracks I heard never really got me interested but the AF remaster may be a good excuse to give it another try as an album. Speaking of AF discs, the Journeyman disc was great and helped me discover & fully appreciate the album. A Journeyman + 24 Nights deluxe set would be another great idea for WB to explore!
I thought I had this CD - it must have been popular because every rock band seemed to be playing "Tore Down'' live after it was included on this CD. I couldn't find the album, so maybe this will be a purchase for me. Jim Keltner playing drums on the album and Andy Newmark playing on the live tracks - that's a pretty d@mn good line-up, to say nothing of the other band members !
I was in a band that played Tore Down, loved Eric's live version/s from this tour and Freddie's original.
I took my daughter to see Clapton at Madison Square Garden in October of 2018. It was a great show but somewhat subdued and not a lot of intensity. We went to see Phil Collins at Boston Garden several nights later and that was a much better show IMO. As much as Phil was relegated to sitting most of the night the show had much more fire and intensity than Clapton's show.
I don’t think the mastering was the problem with Pilgrim, it was the production, just horrible, those songs are far better live.
I hope this From The Cradle deluxe edition comes to fruition, it would be a dream come true with the NBTB Blu-Ray, should be a major upgrade from the bootleg but I’ll believe it when I see it.
An audio edition of Nothing But The Blues - Fillmore 1994 will also be released but it looks like it's digital only. At least I couldn't find a physical edition or even a release announcement. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09Y77Y3WV
"Have You Ever Loved a Woman" has been released on streaming services. I've gone off EC in a big way in these last two years, but From the Cradle is probably my favourite album of his and Live in Hyde Park shows that he did very well with those tracks live, so I'm tempted. And Wheels of Fire? Now c'mon... (That said, I did not buy the Goodbye Tour box. How high are the chances the studio tracks from Goodbye will be included on the Wheels of Fire set so they're not "orphaned"?)
..."Whether the new From The Cradle package will include this as audio in addition to video remains to be seen"...
For what it's worth, the Amazon UK link above has a release date of June 24. Sampling the new track on Spotify now ...
Great news for EC fans. The live recordings of the following tour one can listen to on YT sound fantastic. The rehearsals also.
