Barry is credited but I don't think he actually did ELP's Trilogy.

    Hi Jamie,

Yup. I was also blamed :sigh: for Yessongs. I mastered neither.

Butch, you've got me down for "album" along with CD on a lot of those. I don't know if the vinyl credits me or not but I didn't master the vinyl for any on your list, just the CDs. (I don't know if any of the vinyl was done using tapes I prepared for CD. I would doubt it.)

    Best regards,
    Barry

You have Slayer - South of Heaven, but don't forget Slayer - Reign in Blood, an excellent sounding CD. Barry, do you have any interesting insight about either Slayer album you mastered? Did you get any instruction from the band? It seems these days they are pushing for LOUD and their CD's end up like crap. RiB and SoH are two of their much quieter CD's and they have amazing punch, something the newer albums can only dream of :(

    Hi hushypushy,

Those were from 1/2" analog mixes, if I recall correctly.
There were no instructions when I mastered. I would guess folks come to me because they have heard my work and like it.
I made no effort to create a loud record, instead, as I always do, I aimed to preserve all the dynamics the mix contained. (Loudness, in my view, is best achieved not on the recording but instead by turning the playback volume control clockwise. ;) )

    Best regards,
    Barry

Sorry Barry, I copied most of that from a website and from the "Welcome Barry D" thread here. All corrections are much appreciated!

If we get a definitive list out of all of this, it will be well worth it! :agree: Throw us a bone, any and all SH forum folks! We need every bit of accurate information here!

    If you want audiophile sound.

    Back In Black

I don't know about "Highway To Hell" or the other early ones.

I have a Bod Ludwig credit for "For Those About To Rock". Is this the LP credit or did Mr. Ludwig do this one for CD?

Barry, did you master The Eagles "Greatest Hits Volume 2"?

  12. October sounds terrific. I was under the impression, however, that the first pressing for the Eagles first album used a duplicate of the master made at the wrong speed. Am I wrong about this?

Please add Dokken: Under Lock & Key. Easily the best sounding recording in their catalog.

Other cds I have that credit Mr. Diament (not that that proves anything apparently. . .):

    Simply Red Men And Women
    Mike + The Mechanics s/t
AC/DC Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap

I know Barry mentioned in another thread that he did some of the other original Robert Palmer cds, too.

  21. Hi Barry,

I don't recall if you did any of the Linda Ronstadt CD's?

I know Mr. Doug Sax did the vinyl LP mastering of most of Linda's albums.

Thanks. I believe these represent my best work to date.

I did the original CD release of "For Those About To Rock".

I may have done the Eagles Greatest volume 2. Hard to remember after all the projects and all the years.

    Best regards,
    Barry
