Many countries had as this record's B side, "I Talk To The Trees" by another individual not exactly known for his singing ability, Clint Eastwood. In the U.S., where it was released as Paramount PAA-0010 (and didn't seem to do as much 'bid'ness' in James Brown's jargon in the States as in Britain and Ireland), the B side was "Best Things," credited to "Lee Marvin, Clint Eastwood & Chorus." Both sides, from a Southern Plastics pressing out of Nashville, are shown accordingly:

Using the formula I usually do in such situations, my collection would consist of the following from these:
    #5-6-10, #6-15-19, #7-3-2, #12-16-22, #17-23-31, #18-11-8, #22-40-50, #23-33-49, #24-30-46, #30-32-30, #31-35-44, #35-/-/, #36-42-/, #37-38-35, #39-37-/, #42-/-/. #49-/-/, #/-2-3, #/-48-39, #/-49-/, #/-/-47 (in its original 1965 Motown release) and #/-/-48. First U.S. pressings of the last of which looked something like this:

Props to Lee Marvin for doing his own vocals in the film. I remember seeing Paint Your Wagon on TV as a young kid. It made me want to grow a beard when I grew up.

Special mention should go to #/-2-3, which in Britain would be the last "new" released Beatles' single. In the States it did manage to make #1 and that was followed up by another "new" single which made the top (but saw no British release). But first things first. The labels and pic sleeve will hence be shown:

Wow, I like 18 of those records in just the top 20.
And since I mentioned Wow, how strange that Bananarama did cover versions of both no 12 and 13.

Good to see an early Brotherhood Of Man single at no 11, before they had face transplants of course...

My dad didn't buy the single of Wandrin' Star, but being with it in 1970, bought the Paint Your Wagon soundtrack, which I seem to recall he played regularly.

The single is of course bonkers with the minute plus intro before Lee joins in with that glorious voice.

Anyone else on here tried to hit the starting note?

A single from these charts I do remember, liking it as a seven year old was Herman's Hermits, Years May Come, Years May Go: I have a feeling that this wasn't a hit in the US and so wasn't on an US compilation.

Here's what things looked like in 1970.

Looks like Marc was needed badly.....

Nice thread...1970 was my first year seriously listening to music, and I still think it was one of the great years for music.

I have a question for Roger Whittaker fans...I heard my first song by him in the summer of 1970 called "I Don't Believe In If Anymore"...was this a big hit in the UK? I heard it several times on a top-40 station here in the States (in San Francisco) and it's probably my favorite of his songs.

Thanks...I agree, very nice song and one with a timely anti-war message for that era.

Another gem from early 1970 that I heard was "Temma Harbour" by Mary Hopkin...which proved to be one of the BIG mystery songs of my life, since I only heard it once or twice on radio and at the time I had no clue as to either who sang it or what the title was. But the beautiful melody that it had and the gorgeous voice of the singer really stuck in my 13 year old mind...it was at least 30 years later that I finally heard it again and got the name of the artist and the song title. I'm sure it was a much bigger hit in the UK than it was here in the US. Along with "Goodbye" it's my favorite song by Mary Hopkin. I didn't dig her huge hit "Those Were the Days" (in fact it used to drive me up the wall) but nowadays I do like that one more than I did in my childhood days.

"Temma Harbour" saw a U.S. release on Apple 1816. The Scranton label fonts are below (though this appears to be a contract pressing, given the absence of the 360 interlocking serrations):

The picture sleeve (US Apple seemed at this point to have a standardized template for PS design):

You may be right. From what I've seen, their last US MGM single was issued in 1969.

I don't recall those songs back from 1970, but caught up with them a couple of years ago: those songs are very good and her voice outstanding.

I believe @carlwm is a fan and may want to comment.

Song #5, "Venus" was the only HIT that Dutch band Shocking Blue had here in Oz. I recently bought their 13 x CD Boxed Set.. I never
realised back then that they were such a good band.
Also, Song #14, "Nights In White Satin" by Aussie group Samael Lilith is a cover of the Moodies song. I'm a massive Moody Blues fan
however I reckon this Oz version is as good (or even better) than the Moodies version.
This era had all the superstars... Elvis, Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Hollies, Roy Orbison, CCR................................

    Love it.

I was too young, at the time, to realise the quality and diversity in the UK chart. A mixture of 60s classic acts, reggae, soul, country, Elvis, Frank, and perfect pop.

Bridge is a song I've always loved and always will. One of the best songs from a pure classic album too. A really great way to say goodbye to one of the most influential duos in 60's music. A perfect record.
