Any good examples of fake tv shows/movies as seen in a tv show or movie?

always thought What’s My Crime from 101 Dalmatians would be good!

The imaginary... ahem, adult entertainment Logjammin' in The Big Lebowski gets me every time:

    - You can imagine where it goes from there.
    - He fixes the cable?

Yup! Always thought it was brilliant how it worked as a meta-level commentary on the corniness and plot progression of the real show. Well done, Mr. Lynch!

Gotta be dozens from "The Simpsons".

And there's "Sassy" from "The Flintstones"!

Hmm, that whole daytime drama aspect of Twin Peaks is said to have been because of the influence of Mark Frost, chiefly.

"When the Whistle Blows" from Extras was absolute genius.

Oh, well, then of course credits to him, my bad  anyway, it was a great way to use a fictional show within a show.

The character on the tv set who keeps saying “I’ll buy that for a dollar” in “Robocop”.

‘The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis” refers to movies such as “The Monster that Ate Cleveland “ and its two sequels “Son of” and “Return of” but they were never shown.

Al Bundy’s favorite tv show “Psycho Dad”

The movie “Slapshot” has a brief clip of the Chiefs watching a soap opera but I don’t know if it was a real sopa or created for the movie.

What was the name of the movie that
"feels like a real film" in Boogie Nights ?

Every trailer in Grindhouse (Thanksgiving is a highlight). Although, Machete and Hobo were later made as actual movies.

I don't know why they always had him standing up. I lived in a smaller market, and all of the stations here had desks and chairs for the anchors. No wonder their ratings sucked.

Wait - it's NOT real?! (I'm not kidding - I'd never really thought about it!)

The first "show within a show" that comes to mind here is "Tool Time" on "Home Improvement".

Dance Mania from the Cosby Show. Theo and Cockroach are trying to get tickets and Claire gets them for them. There is also a political debate show that Claire is on while Cliff is in the room eating donuts and she schools the old white guys with her intellect: “I want the book.” I’m sure there were more but those immediately came to mind.
