  1. There was also a Kaleidoscope from Mexico active at the time too. They only put out one Ultra-rare album as far as I’m aware.

There was an indie UK band called the Rascals. Only around for a few years. I don’t think they were originally aware of the US band, and their late 60s hits “Good Lovin” “People Got To Be Free” “Groovin” “A Beautiful Morning” and “A Girl Like You.”

The "other" Ray Charles was one of the singers of the theme from Three's Company. When that show was on I wasn't sure how the famous Ray's voice sounded so I was confused for a bit.

After the release of their first album, Blink had to add the "182" to their name to avoid being sued by this Irish band:

From another post on a different thread:

"The Girl I Love" by "The Beatles"!

Released on the Quest label, this was actually some Philadelphia vocal-group veterans with involvement by DJ Jerry Blavat and legendary record-store owner Val Shively. Sometimes said to have been recorded in 1965, it's more likely to have been from around 1969, despite a (fake) Hollywood postal address on the label.

Of course, the first was named after the drink, the second after the town.

    The Four Seasons:

Not Frankie Valli and the gang, but a Pittsburgh vocal group that recorded three 45s in 1959 and 1960. Here's one of them, "Don't Sweat It Baby" (also released under the title "I'm Still in Love with You").

In jazz, you have the great pianist Bill Evans, performer of one of the largest catalogs in the music's history and the saxophonist Bill Evans, who is a big enough talent to have recorded 20 or so albums as the headliner. And both played in bands with Miles Davis.

Easy for me to say, but if I shared a name with an icon that big in my field, I'd change it, even slightly, to avoid a lifetime of "Not that Bill Evans."

My parents had this and when everyone was going on about the “Oasis” album back in ‘94 I initially thought this was having some strange revival!
