Your work is great. Are you a professional designer? (you should be, they are a lot better than official releases).
These are fantastic! I've always been partial to album covers where the picture speaks for itself without any (or much) text. I guess record labels were hesitant to market most albums without making it clear on the cover the artist and title of the album. There sure have been some striking and memorable album covers that required no such explanation.
Sod it, an evening of The Style Council for me tonight. Such glorious weather too, perfect listening.
Well, since everyone has been so kind, Thank you all very much. Here's my Peter Gabriel singles collection that runs the years 1976-1989. Man, oh man, that PG logo on the spine is a burry mess here, but again these all print perfectly. I enjoy and have loads of fun compiling and designing art for these compilations. When I'm not at work or listening to music, this is my hobby. Front: Booklet front: Booklet inner: Back cover: I also print on the discs. I do original label designs from singles, each disc is a different label from the period represented on each CD. Here's Disc One:
Everyone on this thread is better at graphics than me, but I kind of like this one. Alternate reality December 1969 English release.
Thank you so much! ...The Stones covers would be great for an 'Early Albums' deluxe box set or something. This reminds me a bit of Depeche Mode's second album.^^ Looks awesome! I like it! Especially the details with the Apple Records logo. Thank you! Well, I think I'm into it since a few years already, haha^^
Thank you very much! Designing is just a hobby to me. But all things music & art would be great as a proper job! In my free time I also compile, remaster, restore, remix songs and albums... even recording own cover versions, have some on Soundcloud. Everything with some artwork around it.
I forgot, you can also show some self designed single/EP sleeves! The headline of the thread doesn't mean it's limited to albums only.^^ Alan Distro's single sleeves looks great, too!
One I made few years ago. An imaginary Columbia LP release before Piper. Including all known early 1967 songs recorded at Sound Techniques Chelsea by Joe Boyd.
It should. This series of photos of Kate are by Brian Griffin, the same photographer that did the Depeche Mode 'A Broken Frame' and 'Construction Time Again' album covers.
This thread makes me so happy. I thought I was only one who did this kind of thing Here's a bunch more: Brandy - Hot Shot (demo) Azealia Banks - Red Flame (demo) Courtney Love - The Rehab Demos Spice Girls - Demos Madonna - Live from Italy
Here's a simple one. Double CD compilation I made for one of my older brothers. He likes Springsteen songs from Born To Run through Born In The U.S.A.
I thought the same!! But I think collectors like us have to be creative after all the years of getting more and more music anyway, hehe. Great pictures!
