Hello, I'm wondering if any of you know of an alternative cover for the Bohemian Rhapsody movie CD? I've got nothing against Rami Malek, but I'd rather see Freddie or the band on an album featuring most of the Live Aid performance...
Using this obscure compilation, this is what the second album of The Zombies for 1966 should have been
I created this cover for a Monkees album of leftover tracks: Albums Back from the Dead: The Monkees - "L.A., D.C., Houston and Openshaw"
Alternate cover for REO Speedwagon's compilation album "The Hits". The photo used here was originally used for the "Here With Me" single.
My cover for my sequel to The Kinks' "Lola versus Powerman and the Moneygoround, Part One" Albums Back from the Dead: The Kinks - "God's Children versus Dreams and the Good Life, Part Two"
It all started with "My cover for my sequel to The Kinks' "Lola versus Powerman and the Moneygoround, Part One"" And suddenly.... JoJo reference. Basically, the Internet. You can expect a JoJo reference to be made anywhere, even in a harmless fan made alternate album cover thread such as this one.
Not really alternate covers, but I sometimes like to do art corrections to labels that use ugly, generic artwork on their CD releases. This month it's been PAT BENATAR. The booklets reproduce the original album art front and back, the back covers are then reformatted slightly to fit in the rectangle of the jewel case. In this case, I also did needledrops for the audio and used the original Chrysalis label design for the CD face. The last pic is the original ugly/generic black back that Chrysalis uses.
Here's a new set of reconstructed re-do's of album covers where the issuing label was either lazy or didn't care to use original art elements. The booklets are a reconstructed reproduction of the original LP artwork (tiny typefaces and all ), and the jewel case backs I've used some of the original artwork elements - reformatted to fit in the rectangle jewel case. It's not easy being slightly "mental". First up is a side by side of the label's CD art work for Clannad - 'Crann Ull' with my re-do. (below) Clannad - 'In Concert' and 'Fuaim'
Thank you very much! I love "correcting" poor artwork. Clannad - s/t Clannad 2 and Dúlamán were also done poorly on CD and I added back all of the missing art for those as well. Even worse the Tara CD of 'Crann Ull' I purchased from my shop's distributor is a CD-R. I sent Tara an email to see if they had any silver pressed discs still. I might have to purchase a used pressed copy from discogs.
Created a cover for leftover tracks by The Move and titled it Omnibus - Albums Back from the Dead: The Move -- "Omnibus"
"He(re)'s the one that makes ya feel alright!" I was asked by a friend to make a little art for his CD copy of the original LEATHÜR RECORDS mix/version of MÖTLEY CRÜE - TOO FAST FOR LOVE. We also decided to add their first single release 'Stick To Your Guns' (original 7" version) b/w 'Toast Of The Town' as a bonus. I think I did "alright". First pic is the front and back of the original LP, a minimally re-worked back cover for the jewel case and a repro of the original LP's record label for the disc (with full LP track list). The second pick is the original inner sleeve, with a newly designed tray card featuring the front and back of the original 7" single sleeve.
Here's a little 6 track ep collecting up the six stray Steely Dan tracks not found on their LPs. The artwork is a variation of/based on the UK 7" single sleeve. (Yes, I know FM was released on MCA originally, but I liked the look of the ABC Records disc label.) Oh, and there's a small fib in the tracklist: FM (reprise) is actually the full length version with the saxophone outro.
There was a radio promo album released in 1976 featuring tracks from solo albums by members of Yes called "Yes Solos." The cover for it was all white, so I took Roger Dean artwork and created a new cover for it. Albums Back from the Dead: Yes' "Yes Solos"
Worse than that! The title/logo was printed on a sort of bumper sticker, slapped haphazardly onto a blank sleeve. It's understandable that the company didn't want to commission or license cover art for a record that was never intended for general release, but it still comes across looking a bit cheapo considering how much money Atlantic was making off the band.
Hey all, I'm wondering if anyone can help me out finding an image? I'm looking for a large jpeg this: BUT, I'm looking for a photo of just the road leading into the mountains, without all the text. I've searched google images and can find many similar photos, but none are even "close enough". I've even tried a reverse search by uploading a cropped version (just the road part) of this cover, but I'm stumped. I'm pretty sure it's a road out in Death Valley. Any help would be much appreciated.
