Chris Rock doesn't get me excited for the new season. Neither does waiting until 2020. The wait is far too long between seasons with some of these shows. Some of us lose interest.
Well, I agree to a point but since it's an anthology, it's not as if the time in between really hurts me. Fargo is usually a winter to spring show, when there is almost nothing else on that I want to watch so I'll take it.
Why lose interest since every series is a totally separate story. They don't relate at all expect in tone and each one is a crime. It is like watching a new movie every few years....
They are related. They have some of the same characters across all three seasons. Keith Carradine played Lou Solverson in season one; Patrick Wilson played a younger version of the same character in the second season. Alison Tolman and Raven Stewart play his daughter in seasons one and two, respectively. Russell Harvard is Mr. Wrench in both one and three. And first season's Billy Bob Thornton narrated an episode during the third.
I was being a bit facetious, lol, but my point was that each story is completely watchable without having ever seen anything having to do with Fargo. You forgot to tie in the movie
Season 3 was waaaayyyy better than I expected it to be. After the greatness of seasons 1&2, I thought a clunker was due. Was it as good as the 1st 2? Prolly not. But it was still pretty awesome tv.
I have to agree now that you mention it. On the other hand, I love Carrie Coon, David Thewlis was fantastically seedy and I really liked Olivia Sandoval as Officer Winnie Lopez
Seeing this thread active had me hoping for som new re: s04. I am looking forward to seeing Chris Rock in the next season
I didn't like S3 nearly as much as S2 or S1 but want to watch it again, may like it more on 2nd go-round. Am waiting for the DVD to go down to like $10 then I'll grab it. I have it on a camelcamelcamel watch.
I watched Season 3 again late last year for the second time with a friend who hadn’t seen and enjoyed it more the second time through. Season 2 & 3 are so beautifully shot - every shot is exquisitely composed and the angles are so creative and artistic. I tried to watch Season 1 and was surprised and disappointed that none of that was present in the first few episodes. It looked so drab and pedestrian without any of the visual creativity of the other seasons. Does that ever come to fruition in the first season or does it take until 2 for Hawley to develop that?
I thought that initially but then kinda felt that the cartoonish caricature of it was what made it work. Coon was brilliant, coming of The Leftovers didn't hurt...
