Anyone ever notice how much Little Eva singing The Loco Motion sounds just like CK? Right down to the vocal phrasing

    >>>>>I'd have to chime in that the occasional pitch problem or bad note is part of what makes the 60s recordings so real, lasting and wonderful to listen to.
music is art, art is not supposed to be perfect, its supposed to be appreciated for its beauty and its flaws. For me, "Sometime in The Morning" is a perfect pop record.

"He's A Bad Boy" - you know the tune if you're a Neil Young fan - Neil 's "borrowed tune" for "Pocahontas."

I've long been convinced that it really is Carole singing the hit version of The Locomotion, not Little Eva at all - though I guess Eva was just following the demo vocal, and that's why it sounds so much like Carole. My UK single of The Locomotion doesn't fade - it just stops dead and dull after the last "Come on!" by the backing vocalists.

he went on a rant about the JFK assassination at the Monterrey Pop Festival which pissed off the other guys in the band. Also he was mad when they wouldn't put his song Triad, about a menage a trois, on their next album

Well, here's one from 1962 that includes Carole King as a writer but not Goffin. Interesting because it's co-written and sung by Carole's sister.

Took me years to find a mint copy of the original 45 back in the 1980's when I was looking for it.

Nice record, arranged by Jack Nitzsche and released on Lee Hazlewood's Eden label (although there appears to be some debate on YT as to which posting of the track has the correct speed). But Ramona King was not Carole's sister, and I imagine her co-writer "C.King" was Cleo King - there was a previous single released by Cleo & Ramona King; and Ramona & Cleo were the credited writers on Ramona's following single 'I Wanna Dance'
    Ramona King

But Ramona did later record two Goffin & King songs on a 1964 single 'Hey Everybody' / 'Make the Night a Little Longer'

Yeah, I believe that's right and that association with Carole was in the back of my mind but sometimes the fingers type faster than ya think about the topic (especially when you see R. King and C. King on the label).
