Is there a more defined criteria??

Otherwise your gonna get a a load of "new-ish" artists listed now who have only done 2 or 3 albums to date....along with the usual "Blind Faith" & "Sex Pistols"

gregorya I approve of this message

Madura released two albums, cleverly named "Madura" (double album) and "Madura II"... the album naming convention may have been influenced by their producer, James William Guercio, best known as Chicago's producer.

The Velvet Underground released 4 studio albums during the lifetime of the band (even counting Squeeze, which I don't, it's just the 5) and they are one of my favourite bands, if not the favourite.

However there's unreleased studio material which can be made into an album or two and now something like 27 CDs in the expanded box sets for the original albums, a 4CD live set (Matrix), a 2CD live set (1969), a single CD live set (Max's) and a lot more bootlegged live. It's starting to feel like there's actually quite a lot now.

I was going to say "Cast" with four but it turns out they released two more albums since they got back together to make it six.

The La's (the band John Powers left to form Cast) traditionally only released one album, and that probably not within the lifetime of the band. But a bit like the Velvet Underground the amount of live and additional studio and session material to emerge over the years has grown like Topsy. I bet there's at least 10 albums of unique material now.

The Firm only produced 2 albums.

Extreme gave us 4 albums originally, but they did bring that up to 5 when they reformed, no doubt specifically to avoid being caught in this category :D
