I was watching a You Tube clip of Donovan relating how he taught John and Paul how to do that fingerpicking while in India. They were apparently both quick studies.

John yelling out : ' Nyet!" In ' Back in the USSR '. It's buried but it's there.

I agree with the above. Also along the same lines John and Paul on I Don’t Want to Spoil the Party “ well tonight she made me sad, I still love her”.

Interesting don't think I've ever heard Donovan talk about that, such a humble guy

I hope it's ok to post a couple:

    The Hard Day's Night Chord
Ringo's drum part on I Feel Fine.
The Leslied guitar part which George plays on the 'oh, that magic feeling' part of You Never Give Me Your Money. It gives me shivers every time I hear it.
Paul's harmony vocal on Something. More shivers.
"What are you doin'? You're out of yer mind. Do the boom boom boom, soft lad" John was in a major grump during the One After 909 session!

It's strange though because Paul has always said that he never really got into standard finger picking, citing Blackbird as an example of his own version of it. John really did wonderful stuff with it and this from a man who said he wasn't very good technically. Speaking of which I love the isolated rhythm guitar from I Want To Hold Your Hand. It rocks and in a way you wouldn't expect.

The seventh chords John plays on rhythm on I Call Your Name and You Can’t Do That. Also the seventh chords he plays on the keyboard on The Night Before.. There is a term used in Bluegrass called drive. That is what John’s rhythm did for the Beatles.

I can't tell for sure if you're being serious or sarcastic with that remark. I suspect the latter.

But if you're being serious, you obviously haven't read Don's autobiography! And I say this as someone who genuinely loves his music. But the impression you walk away with after reading it is that he feels he pretty much invented the 1960s single-handedly.

Donovan always has the most mellow vibe.
I like the bits where he looks right into the camera.

Yeah sarcastic. I'm a big fan as well but pretty soon I expect to read that Donovan wrote Yellow Submarine
