Funny but also accurate. There's been some who have been funny, but it didn't really address what was going on, and some just engaged in a lot of trivia and gossip

I'm pretty familiar with that list, but for me Will Franken is the current guy although he's not a traditional comedian. He's a fascinating performance artist and expatriate currently living in England.

I can't even post his most recent material.

Do you know which record this is from at the 28 minute mark? It's a Will Rogers bit from a record Studs put on. Great interview about comedy in general from 1960.

Larry David mainly effaces himself, but much social commentary can be derived from that.

We have a notable political/social cartoonist in our family who changed his name to Edward Sorel and started a characteristic style that has been widely copied. Edward Sorel - Wikipedia

Isn't there a re-boot of Beavis and Butthead? I loved that show (when they watched and poked fun at the videos)

If you have a spare minute, could you please list down an example of their works for those of us who plan on checking this out, and want to get off on the right foot, instead of just checking out the first result we see.

Here's a video that's 2 minutes long... Mort Sahl on The Smothers Brothers last show. The actual final show didn't air because they were canceled.

Not sure how wide his distribution is. I met him at a local arts fest, and bought a book of his strips and had it autographed.

Yeah, I wish he had a wider distribution. He's funny while being very hard-hitting at times.

If you've ever had to struggle through The Deerslayer, you'll get a kick out of Twain's analysis:

    Fenimore Cooper's Literary Offenses

BTW, Mort Sahl was/is genius. And George Carlin was an extremely accurate observer of culture.
