The quick answer was when Dracula was filmed, Peter Cushing was an established "star" actor in British TV and Movies while Christopher Lee was not much more than an extra at that point in his career. Even after playing the creature in Hammer's Curse Of Frankenstein the year before, he did not have a lock on the role of Dracula when Hammer was initially casting the movie. Dracula was Lee's real breakout role.
Most of Gerry & Sylvia Anderson’s output, but this edges it. “Anything can happen in the next half-hour!!”
The opening credits for 2002's Panic Room were just astounding for their time. I remember watching it in the theatre with amazement. Of course now you can do this stuff on your smartphone, but 20 years ago this was just jaw dropping.
Hmm great episode but “Guy Walks Into an Ad Agency” from season 3 and “The Suitcase” from season 4 are a couple of the best one-hour episodes in TV history, particularly the latter. Even the pilot is extremely well realized. I’d say start there, but I’m also an unapologetic fanboy of that series. dan c
Super warm and fuzzy nostalgic, takes me right back to my childhood every time I hear it. It’s interesting they didn’t go with a “period” sounding theme, but it totally fits the mood and character of the series. dan c
