Venus and Mars was my favourite LP when I was a kid so I have to go with V&.M/ Rock Show. But Too many People not far behind.

The lack of interest for Let Em In is interesting.

Not a good album opener (that would’ve been Silly Love Songs in this case), it’s more something to close side 1 or open side 2 with, imo.

Can’t help but feel what a mess WATSOS is, actually.
Some bright moments (Beware My Love, San Ferry Anne, Time To Hide), two great singles and a majority of ‘meh’. London Town had more of a gestation time afterwards and it clearly shows.

I voted for Too Many People, but I also love Mumbo, My Brave Face, Getting Closer and, of course, Band on the Run.

  8. Too Mant People and Mumbo. If Band on the Run lost that irritating synthesizer, then that would be a contender.

As this is a "favorites" poll, as opposed to a "best" index, I'm happy to say I chose:
"My Brave Face" (The Lovely Linda, runner-up.)

Red Rose Speedway might be my least favorite McCartney album, but I still can't deny the greatness that is Big Barn Bed. Great choice for an opener.

Definitely how well it works as an opener. To just vote for which are the better or favorite songs would be boring.;)

Great question. As much as I love Lonely Road the song, it does make a great opening. Driving Rain has that great chocolate bass tone, and Lonely Road begins with it.

For me it's "Band On The Run" by a rather wide margin. The song is not only one of Paul's signature ones (solo OR Beatles) but it is probably my single favorite song of his, next to "Maybe I'm Amazed".

In fact, as much as I love Paul's solo songs at large, I'm not sure there is even a close second in terms of best opening track.

It's a tie between Too Many People and Band on the Run. The sonics on Too Many People might push it slightly ahead of Band on the Run. So I will pick TMP since I can only pick one, it appears. But Band on the Run is still one of Paul's best songs.
