Rainy Daze, "That Acupulco Gold"
My Ding A Ling...
Tiny Tim - Tiptoe Through The Tulips
The one and only.
Chuck Berry - My Ding-a-Ling
Sorry. We posted at the same time. It was the first song I thought of. LOL
I still remember when this record came out in the early 1980s. I was at that late teen age where liking silly songs was (for me anyway) really hard to do. This one pushed me hard in the direction of "go ahead and enjoy a great silly tune" Helps that he had Damned cred.
Great minds think alike. I'm suprised it took two pages for anyone to post it.
Purple People Eater....Sheb Whoolley
The ladies' bras
Spirit - Ground Hog
Only one I can think of is "I Like Chinese" by Monty Python
Or maybe "Me Lost Me Cookie At The Disco" by Cookie Monster.
Jon Wayne’s Texas Funeral and a few other songs on that album have always cracked me up.
I like Todd Rundgren's cover version of G&S Lord Chancellor's Nightmare Song....but then, I would, wouldn't I.
The Ying Tong Song - The Goons
The Silly Song
Disney's Snow White film
Julie Brown - 'The Homecoming Queen's Got A Gun'
("Throw down your tiara and gun and step off the float")
a foreign song from Utah
first one that comes to mind
The Laughing Policeman - Charlie Penrose
The Cuckoo - Billy Connolly (B-side of D.I.V.O.R.C.E.)
My Boomerang Won't Come Back - Charlie Drake
The absolute best ever!!!
The greatest example of oneuppunsship in recorded history.
Relentless... utterly relentless.
Joe Dolce - Shaddap You Face. I remember hearing this on the radio when it came out.
Actually more whimsical than straight up silly, but still a fave:
The Moody Blues - Nice to Be Here
Talking John Birch Society Blues too!
"I work so hard, don't you understand...
making maple syrup for the pancakes of our land."
Separate names with a comma.
