I'm very surprised to see Nico and Amy so low on the list. :wtf: Even more surprised to see Janet missing from that group of artists. It's still impressive by your list of talented vocalists. :)
You know how I feel about Brandy, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't adore her smokey tone, subtle delivery and raspy timbre. I just wish the girl actually made music I enjoyed. Lol

Right before my list starts it says "In alphabetical order", Johnny!

I might have misinterpreted this thread though. I thought of it as a "your favorite singers voice(s)" thread. Janet would be in my top 15 artists, but she's not one of my top 15 voices.

I skimmed over that. Oops.

See, that's what makes these threads tricky. Darn you @Mr. Grieves :tsk: Lol

If it's my top 15 favorites she wouldn't be included but if we're just going with our favorite singing voices/vocal styles I'd have to include her.

She's the closest I can think of that truly possesses angelic vocals. (Aside from Karen Carpenter) It's as pure as arctic snow.

So you took it as a favorite singing voice thread as well?

Oh, and I forgot to comment on your Brandy comment in your last post, and now you mentioned angelic vocals.

If this isn't heavenly, I don't know what is:

    Yup!

I seriously can't stand that song! Ugh. Every time I hear or think of it I shudder in disgust.

This is a good example of a flawless Brandy vocal.

Like I've said, I'm a sucker for breathy and breezy vocals.

    Johnny!

How about this one? A bonus track off her last album. This song is produced by Danja. @johnaltman , the guy that produced many of the songs on Britney's 'Blackout' and 'Circus' and also 'Bad Girls' by M.I.A. :pineapple:

Finally! A decent Brandy song. Her vocals are meh but I'm loving that beat and the vibe of the song.
I forgot what a skillful producer Danja was. Does he still work with Timbaland? I loved his work on Bjork's "Earth Intruders" and Chris Brown's "Till I Die".

This is another song that I like by Brandy.

Her vocals are meh? I'm starting to think you want a wopping!

I think Danja and Timbaland split ways when Timbaland started working with Justin Timberlake and Danja worked with Britney. (I don't know for sure though, and I'm not saying that was the reason, but) As far as I know they haven't done anything together since then.

Have you listened to any Brandy albums in full? You posted a 'Full Moon' deep cut, so maybe you have... My favorite album is 'Afrodisiac'. This is the closing track, with a shout-out to the late Aaliyah:

Speaking of, do you like Aaliyah?

"Never Say Never" and "Full Moon" are the only two that I've listened to in totality. I like this song but it's because it sounds like it samples Coldplay. :p Brandy had the potential to be so much greater but her mediocre material held her back from reaching the commercial heights of Rihanna and the artistic heights of Beyonce. As for Aaliyah, (hides for safety) I've always thought she was overrated. I enjoyed the work she did with Timbaland and even her debut that was produced by R. Kelly, but I don't understand why she is praised as one of R&B's greatest. :hide: Ok, I do, but it has more to do with her premature death than her body of work. Some have even went as far as to say that there would be no Beyonce if Aaliyah didn't die. Really?
