Lots of candidates but I'm going through a bit of a Fairport phase so I'm going to pick:

Angel Delight

One of their very best. Whisper it, but I prefer it to Liege & Lief.

It's got one of my top ten favorite Bee Gees songs

 

Rod Stewart / EPTAS....IMO this record is not only Rod The Mod crown jewel but it was also the 1970's greatest musical achievement & that decades most satisfying record

Wrecked Again by Michael Chapman is a 1971 must.

I know I picked Brain Capers by Mott upthread, but if I could declare a tie it would be with this one, played it to death at the time. His best album in my opinion.
