I have enjoyed a lot of Allen's movies, but this one was the only one that left an impression on me. The whole point of the film comes together in the last scene when Landau and Allen meet. It's one of the darkest and most cynical endings to a movie I've seen.

When I was younger I had a better appreciation for Woody Allen, the actor. Now I'd rather watch a film he's directed where he's in a minimal role or not at all. Doesn't leave a lot. Hannah & Her Sisters Broadway Danny Rose
When I was 9 my dad insisted I watch Annie Hall. Not sure what that means. Or why he did that - he denies it now. But it taught me a lot about the human condition.
I just watched „Hannah and Her Sisters“ once again! I think it‘s one of the most intelligent and esthetic movies ever
Separating the art from the artist - “Annie Hall” is a pretty perfect film. “Broadway Danny Rose” “Sleeper” “Zelig” “Hannah and Her Sisters” All great.
You’re not alone, a lot of folks can’t tolerate him, but why post in this thread if you don’t like him or his films? You should post your comment here: Which movie did you turn off within 15 minutes?

Sweet and Lowdown is a well shot, cast, directed and as important as all 3, written. This is a music forum and the movie is about a jazz musician set in the late 30's.and early 40's. I can only imagine how many professional musicians this story (movie) relates to. It's a story of the life of a musician as well as their relationships. A must see. I don't know enough about Woody Alan other than his name, tho this movie was recommended to me and it is real for many musicians. Don't even go into it thinking Woody A. I didn't. Many not just musicians (tho especially) will relate to this movie.
Annie Hall Purple Rose Love and Death Hannah and Her Sisters Crimes and Misdemeanors Broadway Danny Rose Take The Money and Run His more recent films don’t resonate with me much. Not sure why. Maybe I’m just getting old and crusty
