A newer Koran movie is an excellent modern noir: Beasts Clawing at Straws (2020) - Impressive directing & writing debut for Kim Yong-hoon. Highly recommended for fans of Korean and noir movies with its non-linear story line, black humor and surprising violence.

´ I've bought 'Narrow Margin' together with 'The Threat' three years ago. Both movies are available in good quality on DVD in the Warner Archive Collection: 'The Threat' (directed by Felix Feist, 1949) is highly recommended, too. It also features Charles Mc Graw, this time on the other side of the law. "Psycho-Noir at its toughest, featuring a vicious protagonist", as critic Eric Somer wrote in his review below: Film Noir Board: THE THREAT (1949) The Threat Film Noir of the Week: The Threat (1949) Classic Movie Ramblings: The Threat (1949) Noirsville - the film noir: The Narrow Margin (1952) Noir Masterpiece The Narrow Margin .....................
Bought Pursued (directed by Raoul Walsh, 1947) ten years ago, it was part of a German Robert Mitchum Edition on DVD (with original English language). This box also contains the exceptional bleak genre classic Angel Face (directed by Otto Preminger), featuring Mitchum & Jean Simmons in the leading roles: Angel Face (Otto Preminger, 1953) Film Noir Review: Angel Face (1953) Maybe not fully Noir, but at least two recommendable Westerns with some noirish moments, both once again starring Robert Mitchum: - Man with the Gun . I'm a sucker for ones that are socially relevant. How about The Killer That Stalked New York? Perfect subject matter for today's pandemic and the push to vaccinate. Also Split Second with the nuclear bomb test as a background. Can anyone give me more fuel for this fire?
