The "remake" of Miami Vice was a total disaster. I got so confuse for it looks like it was Jamie Foxx was Sonny Crockett instead of Colin Farrell.
Its very hard to duplicate Don Johnson for his persona is COOL.

He only is because he's all we've ever known. And his iconic scene with the sword and the pistol only exists because of diarrhea.

Don't think I could disagree more. Mia in the 60s/early-70s was absolutely gorgeous, and what's more she looked amazing with short hair, which helps with Gatsby.

    Edward Furlong in Terminator 2

So much hype when this movie came out in 1991. As one reviewer noted, "[Furlong] was a child actor and in over his head but annoying all the same. T2 wasn't as serious or edgy as the original and the obnoxious Furlong as young John Connor didn't help matters." I'm actually watching the film now (it's been a while since I've watched the sequel), and his performance stands out above all the others, and not in a good way. With a different teen actor, this movie could and should have rivaled the 1984 original - that role change alone would have changed the whole feel of the film for me. It's tough to get passed.

Demi Moore in A Few Good Men - not sure if it was her character or the way she played it, but it added absolutely nothing to the film for me. Her personality, stiff and awkward mannerisms and delivery, and dry monotone demeanor/dialogue stood out as a bit of an oddball with the Legal team of Tom Cruise and Kevin Pollack. Just didn't work at all for me.

Personal life no doubt a Cadbury’s fruit and nutcase. But she usually looks good in films.

Cast was perfect as is. I had just read the novel before seeing the film, so the movie was kinda disappointing. Least in the thrills / scare factor.

Can't you excuse yourself and watch something better in another room?

My ex used to make me watch Suddenly Susan, Caroline in the City, and Mad About You. Sigh.....

    Agreed 100%.

But this is a whole other topic - bad child actors. (Granted Furlong was a teenager at the time.)

Nicole Kidman- Days of Thunder. Not convincing as a neurosurgeon.
Samuel L. Jackson- The Red Violin. Not convincing as a violin expert.
Juaquin Phoenix - Gladiator. Most unrealistic Caesar of all time.
Jane Fonda- Klute and Coming Home. Not convincing as an expensive prostitute or an army wife.

John Cusack in Love & Mercy, Paul Dano did a good job as a young Brian Wilson, but Cusack just seemed a strange one. Jeff Bridges would've been my choice.

Jim Carrey as Count Olaf in Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events. While he was humorous in the role, I think that he didn't come off as scary enough. Despite the humor, Count Olaf should come across as someone you don't want to be in the same room with.

just watched that last night, coincidentally. i think their performances were fine, but yeah, not the right actors for those parts. bigger issue i had w/ the movie was the tone and parts of the script. it's not as bad as its reputation, but definitely a misfire.

  25. It was...different and I love the book (I still have my origin; hardcover from the year it came out). Kubrick’s film is about a cruel and mentally unstable man
    tom Selleck was their choice.
