Final warning, but for what rule?

Hi all (please move this if it's in the wrong place)

I got a post deleted and a "final warning" for breaking a "two bump rule"

What is this rule? I got a post deleted for putting two updates in a single day, but have avoided this since.

Is it about multiple threads in the marketplace?

Also why didn't I get a warning before the final warning?

 

We have a dedicated place for these topics that is quite obvious so it's a shame you didn't take a minute to determine where that place is.

Secondly, you clearly didn't read the rules as it's against them to publicly question a mod's ruling.

I don’t believe he’s questioning a ruling but asking for an explanation of the rule, which is a reasonable request. However, contacting the mods is probably the best approach.

 

Have contacted the mods. The rules in the Discuss the Forum area did not address this, and there doesn't seem to be a relevant thread in Marketplace Discussions. I have had a constructive converstaion with a Gort about a post I made in my early use of the forum, hence was surprised not to get a similar contact this time.

I do actually value the moderation of this site. It's a lot more civilised than other forums I visit.
As @Bradd suggested, it's more about clarification.

Two's the daily maximum allowed.

 

Turns out the rule is one bump per thread, maximum of two threads per day. It was the two threads rule I was breaching.

Good to know from the replies I wasn't the only one confused!
