I have his reissues of Sabbath, Ramones, Van Halen (2010ish); all stellar and clearly done with reverence.
I`m playing Flight 666.One side is all I have time for anyway. I spun Brave New World and really enjoyed it.
Listening to Dance again makes me appreciate keeping Janick in the band. Steve's riff style has little changed in 40 years (variations of i - VI -VII), and having contributions from Adrian and Gers is very welcome. I also like his solos.

Nope. I think it’s a pretty poor maiden album. Read everyone’s views here: Iron Maiden Song By Song Thread
That's a great release and sounds pretty great too though it's a digital remaster. I've that one and the EMI100 Iron Maiden S/T as well- both are good but the all analogue debut album release gets the extra nod soundwise from me. The EMI100 Centenary Series releases are very good in general, some of them are really spectacular soundwise like David Bowies 'Hunky Dory' and Wings 'Band on the Run' to name a few,
"Hunky Dory" (CENT21) is the first AAA release in this series and until the end - 20 more titles - they continued this. With the possible exception of Japan's "Tin Drum". But analogue or not, so far I haven't heard a bad mastering in this series. Some are better than others but I've yet to hear a poor one. Also a fantastic selection of titles. And not even expensive. Things were so easy in the 90's

I have first pressings of every title up to Somewhere In Time and have been on the fence with the new reissues. How do the 97’s compare to the most recent reissues? Sorry if this has already come up in earlier threads.
I like the Iron Maiden S/T from the EMI100 series, it's all analogue and sounds great- soundwise it's a bit different from the UK and JPN original pressings which are my go to copies. The EMI100 sounds a bit more "audiophile" and restricted than the originals IMHO. The EMI100 pressing of Beast (which is digitally) is actually great sounding- I prefer this before the most recent reissue but it doesn't beat any of the original pressings I've.
Thanks for the info....and just so I am clear, the self titled 97 reissue is analogue but Number Of The Beast from the same series is digital?
