    Man, are we talking straight rock n' roll songs with great guitar solos or can we delve into solo guitarists? Because if so, I'd have to somehow pick ONE song from people like Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Steve Morse, Eric Johnson, Paul Gilbert, etc. I'm also surprised to see no Van Halen mentioned yet. I mean, come on guys. Eruption for the win. Perhaps the most important 'guitar solo' to come out in the last 40 years.

    Live, no overdubs... the greatest live guitar solo I've ever heard! :yikes:

    OK so you have listed...and don't take this wrong....solos I assume you like. But I would be interested to hear what exactly it is about the solos you listed that make them rise to the category of "everyone should hear". That is a tall order. :D
