Here are some EACs. 3010-2 Targets WG Japan 89.8 50.5 83.4 41.7 57.5 28.7 76.2 38.1 81.2 40.6 36.5 18.2 90.7 51.0 81.0 40.5 91.7 45.3 97.0 48.5 94.3 54.3
Thanks for that I have a Japanese pressed disc which I will dig out of the archives and will compare the readings. Simon
I'm attempting to do some critical listening between the two copies now. It seems like the Japan is a little more relaxed in the mids than the WG and a little more delicate in the strings than the WG. I think I'm discovering that my preference depends on the song. For example, I think I like Gold Dust Woman better on the Japan but Dreams on the WG. Of course, the Japan target holds a special place in my heart since I bought it in 85 (which served as a part of a backdrop for many fond high school and college memories) and tragically traded it for an "upgrade" in 99. My search to correct this finally ended today when I opened my mailbox.
This is a Made in Germany pre-remaster, post-target, common issue 7599-27313-2: Peak level 71.2 % Peak level 82.4 % Peak level 52.5 % Peak level 78.0 % Peak level 76.3 % Peak level 32.1 % Peak level 81.2 % Peak level 69.0 % Peak level 91.4 % Peak level 76.1 % Peak level 51.5 % Tim
Hi SkyBlueShag, Are you sure that those West German Peak Levels are for the 'Target' pressing...I have a WG 'Target' and it's Peak Levels match those in Post #80 in this thread?
Thanks. I'll be interested to see what you get. If in fact your's is as you posted, that would mean there are two West German 'Target' masterings of this album. In the interim, I will re-check mine.
Just re-checked my WG 'Target' EAC. Peak Levels as follows... Track 1 Peak level 71.1 % Track 2 Peak level 82.3 % Track 3 Peak level 52.5 % Track 4 Peak level 78.0 % Track 5 Peak level 76.2 % Track 6 Peak level 32.1 % Track 7 Peak level 81.2 % Track 8 Peak level 69.2 % Track 9 Peak level 91.3 % Track 10 Peak level 76.0 % Track 11 Peak level 51.5 %
I re EAC'd the WG target and here's what I got. Track 1 Peak level 89.8 % Track 2 Peak level 83.4 % Track 3 Peak level 57.5 % Track 4 Peak level 76.2 % Track 5 Peak level 81.2 % Track 6 Peak level 36.5 % Track 7 Peak level 90.7 % Track 8 Peak level 81.0 % Track 9 Peak level 90.7 % Track 10 Peak level 97.0 % Track 11 Peak level 94.3 % So it appears that there are two masterings. Here's the matrix: 7599 03010-2 2893 013 01 The CD shows 03010-2 to the left and Made in West Germany on the bottom
Fascinating!! The matrix on mine is exactly the same as yours except it has "04" instead of "01" so...this means this is ?a later pressing!? The face of the cd has:- 3010-2 (03010-2) I don't believe this has been discovered before...and i've been through most of the posts/threads on this album!!
I did the same, got a later WG non target, WG target and a 32XD-350, the 32XD sounds also for me more real, present than the others
Does anyone else have a "Made in West Germany" version of Rumours who could duplicate my EAC values? It would be great if we could verify that they're common to the earlier WG pressing.
Are there any other characters around the hub hole on your 01 disc apart from the matrix? PDO a # or * after the 01? etc My 04 has the 230 degree ring, a small square 7599 03010-2 2893 013 04 another small square followed by the 230 deg ring. Thanks Simon
I'm pretty certain that I typed exactly what was in the inner ring. I will double check this and verify it by tonight (Sorry... I'm not home at the moment).
Okay.... mine has the ring.... seems closer to 270 than 180 degrees.... a small square.... then the matrix 7599 03010-2 2893 013 01.... then another small square.
