Scary, insightful, thought provoking. Well done documentary on the Cuban Missile Crisis and Vietnam. The only disappoint was McNamara dodging questions on his responsibility in many of this situations. I wasn't aware of how close I came to death as a kid in the early 60s. MUST SEE for history, political and war buffs.
I saw it last week and it is a must see. McNamara is one smart dude. I never knew he once ran Ford Motor Company. According to him we did come close to nuclear war. As he says "it wasn't a cold war, it was a hot war".
We were about 6 hours away from a full nuclear weapons exchange with the former Soviet Union on that fateful day in 1962. Thankfully, cool heads and reason prevailed - on both sides. Bob
This documentary also has the famous Johnson little girl picking flowers before a nuclear explosion TV ad from the 1964 election campaign.
