Ordered the limited purple vinyl. Initially they'd stated it was limited to 9,500 but removed that statement overnight. Reddit indicates 3,800ish left of the original batch but unsure if they're increasing stock. Can't wait for this album, the new single is different but still the Foos.
I wasn’t impressed with their new single but I’ll always support this band. Seen them dozens of times and have every record. I hear them trying new things with the single but also hear some modern pop influences which I’m not a fan of. They had big touring plans this year which would have been great to see. I also heard they were working on reissues but haven’t heard much more than that.
New song is absolutely horrible. And I love the Foo. Hopefully the rest of the album is a lot better.
Agree. This could've been worked up into something more substantial. As is it's more of a framework for a song than anything else. I've always had much respect for this band but this is rather weak in my worthless opinion.
I thought the same thing. Wasn't a fan of their last album either. Hopefully I like the rest of this album more than the first single.
I think it's a good track. However those who think the song doesn't go anywhere, they're kind of right.
Not sure about the new song, although I think Foo Fighters have had diminishing returns since In Your Honor.
Its a creepy cool song. The note progression right after the shame shame shames (the whoas) is 100% Foo Fighters. It aint the worst song they've ever done.
I really like it, it's good to see them stretching themselves a bit. As others have said there is a strong QOTSA feel to it, which imo is never a bad thing.
I disagree. Some of their best songs have been on the last few albums. "Walk" and "Congregation". Wasting Light is one of their best.
I’m not a massive Foo Fighters fan but they’ve never made an album that was bad in my opinion, which is hard to maintain after 25 years. This new song is not awful, but it’s quite repetitious and sounds like Dave was listening to Erykah Badu when he wrote it. If this is a one song style detour, fine. But if the album is full of beat heavy, neck beard soul music, count me out. I need those guitars to soar.
Heard the single once and while it didn't really do much for me, but I'm thinking it might grow on me the more I listen. Now that I pre-ordered the purple vinyl, I just hope it looks like the mockup version.
Foo Fighters are a solid band. I used to be a huge fan where I’d rush out to buy their new album on the day if its release. IMO their last solid album was Wasting Light. Maybe this single is a misstep and the rest of the album will be solid. I feel like the Foos are realizing their fan base is now 30+ and they’re sort of scene chasing.
